HomeHeat is operated by Tsoir Advisors LLC. HomeHeat is designed with your privacy in mind. We don't require an account, and we don't sell your information. If you enable Community Price Sharing, delivery data is transmitted to our servers to build local price benchmarks—but it is never linked to your identity.

Data Stored on Your Device

HomeHeat stores the following data locally on your device:

• Tank readings - fuel level measurements you enter
• Delivery logs - records of fuel deliveries including date, gallons, and price
• Supplier information - contact details for suppliers you add
• Settings - your tank size, home profile, and preferences
• ZIP code - used to fetch local weather data

This data is stored using iOS secure storage (SwiftData and Keychain).

Community Price Sharing

If you enable Community Price Sharing in Settings, delivery data is securely transmitted to our servers to help generate local price benchmarks and market insights.

What we store on our servers:

• Delivery date and time
• Gallons received
• Price per gallon
• Full 5-digit ZIP code (stored internally for analytics)
• A device-derived anonymous identifier

What we display publicly:

• 3-digit ZIP area only (e.g., "105" not "10549")
• Rounded price ranges
• Aggregated statistics (median, average)

What we never collect or store:

• Your name or email address
• Your home address
• Your Apple ID or any account information
• Your supplier's identity linked to your submissions

Community submissions are associated with a device-derived anonymous identifier that cannot be reversed to identify an individual. You may disable Community Price Sharing at any time in Settings.

Data We Access

HomeHeat requests the following from external services:

• Weather data - We use your ZIP code to fetch weather forecasts from a weather API. Only the ZIP code is sent; no personal information is transmitted.

Optional Analytics

If you choose to enable analytics in Settings, we collect anonymous usage data to improve the app. This includes:

• App feature usage (which screens are viewed)
• Crash reports
• General device type (iPhone/iPad)

Analytics are disabled by default. You can enable or disable them at any time in Settings > Privacy & Consent.

Anonymous Usage Data

To improve the app and understand which features are most useful, we automatically collect anonymous usage data that cannot identify you personally:

• Feature usage patterns - which screens you visit and features you use
• General location - the first 3 digits of your ZIP code only (e.g., "105" for 10501)
• App version and device type - to identify bugs on specific devices
• Fuel type - heating oil or propane (to understand demand)

This data is linked to a random device identifier (not your Apple ID or any personal account) and cannot be used to identify you. We do not share this data with third parties. This anonymous data helps us understand coverage gaps and improve the app for everyone.

What We Don't Do

• We don't require account creation or registration
• We don't sell or share your personal data with third parties
• We don't use advertising or ad tracking
• We don't access your contacts, photos, or GPS location
• We don't link community submissions to your identity
• We don't display your full ZIP code or exact prices publicly

Data Security

Sensitive preferences are stored in the iOS Keychain with encryption. Your tank data is stored using Apple's secure local storage framework (SwiftData).

Your Rights

You can delete all your data at any time from Settings > Manage My Data > Delete My Data. This permanently removes all locally stored information.

Children's Privacy

HomeHeat is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
